Charlie's Alehouse A very nice and popular tourist trap bar in the Navy Pier complex, with an impressive array of draft beers including Bass and a very nice American Hefe Weiss. Good food but not cheap.

Chicago Market Cafe A typical airport bar / eatery with just a few domestic draught beers available. Surprisingly, no smoking is allowed in here.

Gate H1, Midway Airport
Dublin's A pleasant, friendly and always busy "Irish" bar / eatery. The food looks good. 10,000 bonus points for having Pink Floyd's Echos on the jukebox when I went in!

Rush / Belle Vue
Fado A well known multi-storey Irish pub, all very fake inside but rather nice. Live UK football at 09.00 with a superb-looking Irish breakfast.

Gibsons A rather up market bar / restaurant with some very nice wood panelling.

Govnor's Pub Another "Irish" bar serving good food.

Hannge Uppe A fun popular night club, $3 in and reasonable beer prices. On the ground floor a small disco playing modern stuff, and 70s and 80s music in an enormous multi-roomed basement. Great decor but what a shame to nail vinyl records on the ceiling and walls.

Harrison Grill A typical, but very small, hotel bar in the Holiday Inn. Glasses so cold the beer actually freezes.

Hunt Club Very dark inside this popular bar / restaurant which has an LSTV and lots of small ones showing different sports.

Rush / Belle Vue
Illinois Bar and Grill Draught beers include MGD, Fosters, Amstel, Heineken and Sam Adams in this small pleasant bar and diner. Food, including a five egg omelette, is rather good.

Concourse B, Midway Airport
Kitty O'Shea's A rather posh "Irish" bar with a nice wood and mosaic floor, situated in the extremely impressive Hilton Hotel.

Metro Cafe A very good station bar with an impressive looking deli. counter. Lots of different sports on TVs, live and recorded.

Union Station
Mondelli's A plain friendly small ale house. A dish of fresh popcorn for each customer!

Pippin's A small busy friendly one room bar with some nice wood panelling. Free monkey nuts.

North Rush / Pearson
Redfish This large restaurant has a great jazz / blues bar called the Voodoo Lounge attached. A nice mosaic tiled floor. The bar food looks good. Live music evenings.

Reilly's Daughter An "Irish Pub" according to the sign. Concourse B, Midway Airport
Rock Bottom Brewery A large restaurant / bar with about ten of their own brews on tap. The solitary hand pump was out of use when I visited. The Terminal Stout was very nice, and the 7% abv Bourbon Stout, aged in Jack Daniels barrels was even nicer. Their Sub Zero barley wine was OK but tasted a little thin and sweet.

Tavern on Rush A slightly posh, up market bar with a restaurant upstairs, absolutely wedged when we visited.
