Very nice traditional style decor, slightly plastic in places, including antique golf clubs on the ceiling and a collection of potties. The bright green bar stools don't fit in. LSTV. Now closed and boarded up.

A pleasant interior, but looking a little worn in places, in this standard two bar "Oak Lodges" flat house. Part of the front room was boarded off, so perhaps refurbishment is imminent.

A beautiful two-sided pub with a small bar and a two room lounge side, traditionally decorated. In 1999 this place was such a pleasant surprise in this area of plastic beer that the evening's plan - ten halves in ten pubs - was put on hold while we had a couple of pints of the house real ale, served by a waitress in the lounge! Sadly, revisiting in 2004 we found that the real ale had gone.

In 1999 I visited a rather splendid two-sided traditional pub. In 2007 I found it had been completely refurbished, sadly losing the original features and knocking through the two rooms into one. Located opposite the hospital, this pub was scheduled for demolition under the Merseytram plans.

I visited at lunch time on their very first day and already there were two or three handpumps with clips but no beer. The other pumps dispensed ale in excellent condition as one would expect from a Wetherspoon's. This ex-cinema has been totally gutted and very nicely done out with dark panelling and a high ceiling with lots of iron beams.
