Boilermakers Arms	Tetley / 4X, Carling, Carlsberg	This two bar corner house was in need of a hoovering when I visited. Nicely decorated but a little tatty in parts. Last visited 2004.	Watery Lane / Hoghton Road
Bowling Green	John Smith's, Tetley / Carling, Foster's	This two-sided pub looks a little down at heel from the outside. The lounge, however, is nicely done out with plain pleasant decor in two rooms partly knocked through, one of which has plenty of disco lights for the weekend. I didn't visit the bar side. Glassmakers Arms	Tetley / Carling, Carlsberg	The splendid lounge has some dark wood panelling in this very nice traditional pub with two bars plus a couple of back rooms. Last visited 2004.	Waterdale Crescent / Waterdale Place
Junction	John Smith's, Tetley / Carlsberg, Foster's	Very nicely done traditional decor in the lounge in this two sided pub, which appears to have been recently refurbished. The bar side is very nice too. Beer garden. Last visited 2004.	Station Road / Junction Lane
Penlake Rail Club	John Smith's, Webster's / Foster's	This clean and tidy social club is hidden up a back street behind St Helens Junction station. So well hidden, in fact, that one of the regulars asked how we had found the place! (My thanks go to Lawrence for informing me of its existence.) It features a large function room, a games room with two snooker tables, and a lounge which was closed when I visited on a Thursday evening. Last visited 2004.	Penlake Lane

Red Lion Hotel	/ Carlsberg, Crystal	The pub with no name. The sign was missing when I visited and there was no indication of the name on the outside of the rather tatty looking building. Inside, in contrast, we found a well cared for lounge, nicely decorated in plain style. Last visited 2004.	194 Robins Lane / Lancots Lane
Sutton Oaks (Boundary Vaults)	Black Sheep, guests / Carlsberg, Foster's, Stella	A nice plain bar and a very pleasant lounge in this traditional pub which provides an oasis of quality ale in what would otherwise be a keg-only desert. Last visited 2004.	Bold Road / Hills Moss Road
Victoria "Little Pig"	Worthington / Carling	A nice lounge and a clean and tidy bar in this friendly local. Last visited 2004.	32 Ellamsbridge Road / Edgeworth Street

Wheatsheaf Hotel		CLOSED. (Looks to have been closed for a long time.) Not visited.	Lionel Street at the back of the railway station
